How to argue like a philosopher

Have you ever found yourself in a meeting, or out with friends, and wanting to get your point across? But instead somebody else says something really clever or insightful or persuasive or authoritative, and suddenly everyone else is agreeing with them. Worse still, somebody repeats the point you just made, only more clearly, and your words are forgotten. Or say you're in an argument, and you just can't come up with a line of reasoning to shut the other person up.

So imagine you had at your fingertips the skills to argue like a philosopher: to see through the flaws in the other person's argument, to run rings round them, and to state your case with a clarity and concision that has everybody eating out of your hand. That is what this session is aimed at.
